I started working as a veterinary technician in 2000. During that time, I saw firsthand the challenges that pet owners faced when it came to providing their pets with at-home care. Many owners found it difficult to administer injections, give subcutaneous fluids, or properly administer medications. As a result, their pets often had to be brought back to the vet for follow-up appointments, which was inconvenient and expensive.
I also saw how difficult it was for pet owners to find reliable pet sitters or boarding facilities. Many of these facilities were not properly trained to handle pets with special needs, and as a result, pets often experienced setbacks in their health or behavior.
I was determined to find a way to make it easier for pet owners to provide their pets with the care they needed at home. In 2005, I started working part time with a pet sitter who specialized in pets with special needs.
